What is Alexia?

Alexia is a form of Aphasia that affects reading comprehension, including:

1.  Having difficulty recognizing words by sight or understanding written material of any length.

2.  Having difficulty sounding out words or association sounds with letters.

3.  Spelling or writing nonmeaningful syllables or words.

4.  Having difficulty reading function words (e.g., articles, prepositions, pronouns).
